Kiva

Half the population of the world, more than two billion people, live on less than $2 a day.

More than 20,000 of our brothers and sisters die daily from starvation.

And there’s something we can do that’s very easy, incredibly inspiring and educational for our children. It’s called Kiva, which a Swahili word for unity.

Kiva is a world renowned charity that loans poor people the funds to start small businesses and change their lives. It takes only $25 to help someone start a new life, and you get to choose who receives your funds. Once they repay the loan, you have the opportunity to make a new loan with the very same funds, so your donation recycles again and again.
