The Yoga of Self-Inquiry

Martin Luther King said “The highest form of maturity is self-inquiry.” In Yoga this is called Svadhyaya.

Svadhyaya is the practice of looking within, exploring who we truly are, and also reading great spiritual texts, which always help promote and support self-inquiry.

When we look into our souls and explore our relationship with the world around us, the little things that often bother us in life seem to melt away. We see the bigger picture and more easily access the gratitude, compassion, forgiveness and inner peace that are integral parts of our true nature.

Take time each day to ponder life, read a paragraph or two of your most cherished spiritual books, contemplate who you really are at the very deepest level. This is Svadhyaya ~ a powerful and healing Yoga.
