Child’s Pose

We tend to think the more physically challenging a Yoga pose, the more “advanced” it is. While mastering challenging poses is affirming, empowering and transformative, it is the passive, gentle poses in Yoga that are actually the most advanced.

When we can relax into stillness and silence, sustain a deep breath and a calm, focused mind, we move more deeply into a state of Yoga. It is here that we can connect with Spirit, listen to our inner voice and experience a pure state of being.

Balasana, Sanskrit for Child’s Pose, is one of the most sacred poses in this category. As you sit on your knees and fold forward, you are folding into your heart center and entering the realm of peace, lovingkindness and grace.

You are bowing to Mother Earth and reestablishing a primal connection with her. You are releasing ego and tension while cultivating humility and a sense of oneness with all that is.

Experience the depth of restful poses. Dive into your heart. Breathe with the Divine.
