Forgive Someone

Most of us have been wronged more than once in our lives. It is painful when it happens, being hurt by others, especially when we cannot understand their motives or discover what role we played in the event.

This trauma builds up inside of us, and we often carry it forward for years, which only deepens our distress. The truth is, those who may have hurt us were dealing with their own demons, expressing their own pain and often were unknowingly seeking to project their troubles onto others. Most of us have made this same mistake.

This week I invite you to forgive someone. Sit in silence for a few minutes and ask your heart to guide you. The answer of who you should forgive will likely arise very quickly. Embrace it. Forgive them. Forgive them in your heart and release the hurt, just let it dissolve into the grace of forgiveness.
